**** Offered only for students within Derby College Group ****. A Supported Internship is for those students who have an Education, Health and Care plan and who wish to exit College into employment. Supported Internships aim to equip young people with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.

Who is this course for?
**** Offered only for students within Derby College Group ****.
A Supported Internship is for those students who have an Education, Health and Care plan and who wish to exit College into employment.
Supported Internships aim to equip young people with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
Students will be supported by a Job Coach.
Entry Requirements
Students should want to work and have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care plan).
Students will already be studying at Derby College Group.
What will you learn?
Students will primarily be developing work skills by learning in the workplace.
They will also be on a personalised study programme which includes English and maths skills.
How will you learn?
Supported Interns spend one day on-site and two days within the workplace.
What will you need to bring with you?
Students will only need PPE if it is required within the workplace.
How will you be assessed?
Along with EHCP outcomes, students will keep a work journal and assess themselves against targets that they set with their Job Coach.
Where next?
Supported Interns will leave College into work (paid or voluntary).
